The remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time has not been canceled. To reveal it is Ubisoft in an update on its official website.
In the article you can read the announcement: “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will not be canceled and is in development at Ubisoft Montréal. In addition to this remake, there are no others planned “. On the publication date and pre-orders instead: “At the moment a new release date has not been set but we will soon provide more details as soon as we are ready. Without a release date, existing pre-orders have been canceled and refunded where applicable. Pre-orders could then reopen once the new publication date is announced “.
Since the announcement, dating back to September 2020, The Sands of Time Remake has already been postponed several times. The project was initially in the hands of the Montreal studio and then passed almost immediately to the Indian division of Ubisoft, in Mumbai. S.killingly, after an internal reorganization, the material returned to colleagues in Montreal who are still working on it
However, no news compared to the latest updates, dated June 2022. In between, about two years of smoky news or – in most cases – of postponements to unspecified dates in the future. At the moment, trusting the latest information, the release year should be 2023.
