In May, Remedy had made it known that Alan Wake Remastered had not recovered the production costs and therefore had not generated any revenues, unfortunately the situation has not changedas confirmed during the last financial report of the Finnish company.
To date, the game has not generated royalties for Remedysales were below expectations and therefore the company did not make any profits, it is not clear if the costs of development and marketing have been paid off, certainly Alan Wake Remastered was unable to generate profits more than a year after launch.
However, Alan Wake Remastered is not the only game that has not gone well, Crossfire also did not generate any profits while the sales of Control fell and therefore the receipts were lower than expected in the last quarter.
Remedy is working on Alan Wake 2, over ten years after launch (the first Alan Wake came out on Xbox 360 in 2010) the adventures of the writer will have a sequel, due out in 2023, we still know very little about this project but it is expected that Remedy will be able to reveal new details over the next few months. However, the companion seems to have faith in the Alan Wake brand, we will see how the franchise will evolve in the coming years.
