After their somewhat dreary 3D premiere, the cute Team 17 worms launch another attack on your laughing muscles: But it’s not just the new construction strategy elements that bring more humor into play, a total of 20 missions take on historical scenes such as the battle for Troy and the search for it holy grail on the shovel. In addition, ten trial battles await you, in which you fight a whole army of stupid or only a few, but particularly well entrenched worms. This time there are also plenty of rewards for your efforts: in addition to slapstick films and pictures, a total of 30 weapons, 15 buildings and ten tools can be earned. Of course, you can also storm the multiplayer mode for up to four friends, in which teams, rules and equipment can be arranged as you like: Xbox Live gamers even fight on the Internet!
Works at first glance Forts under siege Like its predecessor: Protégés and enemies face each other in different 3D areas and take turns acting – in each round you have 45 seconds to jump into an advantageous shooting position with your worm and throw rockets, frag grenades or even rhinos in front of the enemy’s bib to pop. Each weapon has individual advantages, such as ballistic trajectory, area damage or remote control.
Recently, however, each team occupies a destructible fortress that you defend, repair and expand with towers and outposts: It not only serves to protect you, but also allows you to use powerful weapons such as catapults and mini-guns. The many sub-missions integrate the new element into the battle: you have to protect allies, for example, or set up facilities in the crossfire.
