On November 16, 2022, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will launch the next chapter of the Battle Royale shooter. Many players will then also say goodbye to the Warzone original, which has been supplied with new content since March 2020 alongside Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard. However, if you would rather play the first Warzone in the future, you still have the chance to do so. Fans just have to get used to a new name.
Warzone is renamed
Activision doesn’t want to just let Warzone disappear like that. Instead, the battle royale title will return as Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera. There will be a small break anyway. A few hours before the launch of Warzone 2.0 – around 7 p.m. on November 16th – the servers of the original will be shut down. Twelve days later – on November 28th at 7 p.m. – Warzone Caldera goes online with some changes.
What does Warzone Caldera offer?
As usual, you will be able to play the standard version of the Battle Royale playlist in Warzone Caldera. However, your XP progress, purchases, and inventory items are only tied to Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard. If you want to unlock the next Battle Pass or have an in-game store, you must be playing Warzone 2.0 now. Activision’s future focus will be on Modern Warfare 2 and the new Battle Royale offshoot.
