MEO recently got ahead of NOS and Vodafone on a “totally technological and revolutionary journey”. In a statement, the operator said that is the first in Portugal to enter the metaverse.
“The so-called “new generation of the Internet”, Web3, has arrived at MEO. At a time when the real world and the virtual world are increasingly intersecting, MEO is now embarking on an immersive experience and inaugurating a totally innovative and revolutionary, which marks the entry of the brand in the metaverse”, explains the company in a statement.
The inauguration of this new space is accessible to all consumers, and promises to mark “a new era in the electronic communications sector”. MEO intends to respond to experimental and human needs, providing new experiences and generating new virtual relationships for all consumers.
How to access the MEO metaverse
Users can access, through a computer, tablet or smartphone, the MEO metaverse. This was developed on the Spatial platform, in partnership with the Portuguese innovation agency, Instinct.
It should be noted that the connection is made through the web page meo.pt/metaverso. MEO also mentions that users who have virtual reality equipment will also be able to access this space in an even more immersive way.
What can you do in MEO’s metaverse
When entering MEO’s metaverse, the user can create their own avatar, through a photograph or a configurator. There you have the possibility to choose the details of the hair, eyes, mouth, skin tone, among others).
You will start in a central square, which throughout the entire experience will give access to several spaces, such as a MEO pop-up store, functioning as a customer service point; an amphitheater, for the realization of various initiatives and meetings.
There is also Casa MEO, a virtual showroom with the brand’s products and services, consisting of a living room, decorated with works of art by João Noutel, belonging to the Altice Foundation, a kitchen, a laundry room and three bedrooms.
Still inside this MEO House, it is possible to observe some exposed paintings, created with artificial intelligence, and with a strong connection to the five senses of the brand: Feel, Listen, See, Savor and Inspire.
“The launch of the new MEO space in the metaverse together with the opening of the new store in our head office building is a great source of pride! We are leaders in all areas and segments due to our ability to innovate and surprise”, says João Epifânio, administrator for the Consumer Segment at Altice Portugal.
