11/11/2022 at 7:30 p.m. by Susanne Braun – The WoW developers had announced that they would increase the basic health of your heroes in the Dragonflight endgame by 40 percent at level 70. Therefore, with Pre-Patch Phase 2 comes an adjustment to healing and dampening in the arenas of WoW so that the matches are not too long.
The WoW developers during testing on the WoW: Dragonflight beta servers decided that healing is too powerful, and to avoid too much gameplay with stressful burst damage in the endgame at level 70, they increase the base health of heroes and enemies at level 70 by 40 percent. Of course, this also has an impact on PvP. And that’s why the developers are already taking an action that affects the game in arenas with the second phase of the Dragonflight pre-patch starting on November 16, 2022.
“Recently in the Dragonflight Beta, some changes were made that increased players’ health by 40% at level 70. We were investigating how this would affect the power of healing in PvP and wanted to provide an update on that” , writes Community Manager Bornakk in the WoW forums. Because in the test scenarios, the people at Blizzard found that healing is too powerful in PvP too. The new talent trees currently offer “a big discrepancy between the strength of some skills in PvE and in PvP”.
Change to Dampening and Healing in Arenas
The developers were now discussing individual modifications to various skills, but they found this to be too complicated. More specifically: “We felt that customization via a flat stat was the easiest to understand from a player perspective, as it’s consistent while targeting personal survivability.”
This means that healing in arenas will start at a 10% reduction compared to previous standards. Additionally, the dampening timer will start earlier in 3v3 Arena matches. This has the following effect:
Scored Single: Starts with 10% Dampening, which increases by 25% per minute after 1 minute 2v2 (two DpS): Starts with 10% Dampening, which immediately increases by 6% per minute 2v2 (with a healer): Starts at 30% Dampening (instead of 20%), which immediately increases by 6% per minute3v3: Starts with 10% dampening, which increases by 6% per minute after 3 minutes (instead of 5 minutes).

On 11/16 the XP buff Wind of Wisdom will disappear from the WoW servers. However, you will not level slower afterwards, but faster!
The dampening debuff will show stacks more clearly due to a change. “We will continue to monitor the PvP balance in various pieces of content to evaluate further adjustments we should make with either Dampening or the PvP Trinket Set Bonus,” notes Bornakk. Whether there will be corresponding adjustments in world PvP or on battlefields is still unknown.
