Finally celebrating video games publicly and fervently again! For well-known reasons, the last few years have been uneventful when it comes to large and small game fairs and events where industry and community come together to put their favorite hobby in the spotlight. Now the big names are finally back, in 2022 even Gamescom opened its halls to countless fans again. Aside from the mega events, there were also exciting smaller events that deserve attention. And there were even completely new events that could develop into a real magnet for gaming culture in the years to come.
Such a rising star could be the brand new Polaris, held in Hamburg for the first time this year. From October 28th to 30th, Team Super Crowd, founded in 2018 and already causing a stir with the Indie Arena Booth at Gamescom and MAG Erfurt, invited together with e-sports veteran RCADIA to celebrate and explore together on 20,000 square meters and have fun. The newly launched community convention offered many highlights and, despite the hustle and bustle and parallel shows, maintained a charming, intimate and personal atmosphere – wonderful!

In addition, you could get refreshments in the form of dishes – also vegetarian, of course – at the “Munchi Markt”, which also had merchandise stands with anime, manga and games products. In the same framework, cosplay contests, dance competitions and musical performances took place, you could watch several artists draw, buy an original work and much more.
There was also the opportunity to experience the trade fair together with gamification elements in the form of a separate app. You could collect stickers and experience points at the stands of manufacturers and partners, earn free drinks from major manufacturers such as Fritz-Kola and Warsteiner and much more – that was really well received by visitors!
