MEO and Amnesty International have just announced that they are joining forces to remember and raise awareness among the Portuguese of one of the fundamental pillars of Humanity: Human Rights.
Altice Portugal’s consumer brand assumes itself as grounded in Humanization and with a history of social impact. It is aware of the relevance of its performance and assuming its responsibility towards society.
Qatar World Cup at the heart of MEO’s Human Rights campaign
In this way, it once again uses its means of communication, its power of reach and daily impact on millions of Portuguese people, to give visibility to a reality of clear violation of respect for human beings.
At stake are the “widespread abuses during the preparation of the Qatar World Cup, as the country that organizes the competition, has been the scene of one of the greatest violations of Human Rights”.
The “authentic attack on the life, dignity, freedom and personal safety of migrant workers and their families, in the construction of stadiums and other infrastructures”, is highlighted.
In an awareness campaign by MEO and Amnesty International with the slogan “We do not forget human rights”, the movement started by MEO in 2018 was continued today.
“The violation of human rights, in the very delicate world context we live in, is not limited to Qatar. The MEO brand, which, since 2018, has signed “Humaniza-te”, has a role to play and cannot, and should not, remain indifferent”, says João Epifânio, CSO B2C at Altice Portugal.
Remember that MEO is the sponsor of the Portuguese Football Team, and now invites everyone to support Amnesty International. This is a vehicle to help the families of thousands of workers who have seen their lives and their basic rights denied.
