Next month, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be getting a free upgrade on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. In addition to the unveiling of the release date, details on the technical improvements and the content offered have now also been given.
As announced yesterday, the role-playing hit “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” will be given native implementations for the current PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles on December 14, 2022.
If you already own Geralt’s final adventure for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you can of course download the upgrade at no additional cost. After there was only talk of various technical improvements, those responsible at CD Projekt went into more detail and confirmed ray tracing support, “dozens of graphic improvements” and optimized performance.
In addition, the SSDs of the current console generation ensure massively reduced loading times. A higher resolution and an improved frame rate complete the technical upgrade.
Mods and cosmetic content confirmed
The developers at CD Projekt also explained that, in addition to the technical improvements, new content is also waiting – including modifications that have not yet been specified or a DLC based on the successful Netflix series “The Witcher”, new weapons, accessories and outfits for selected characters ready. However, CD Projekt has not yet gone into more detail here.
However, it is conceivable that clarity will be provided as early as next week. As CD Projekt announced when the release date was revealed yesterday, the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S implementation of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” will be presented to us in detail over the course of the next week – including the first gameplay scenes. Then the technical improvements and new content of the upgrade should also be discussed more specifically.
