It’s finally here, the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0! To accompany its launch, the new Battle Royale from Activision offers to take a look at its first patch note. So what’s new?
Warzone 2.0 is here! New to the program?
As expected, Activision took advantage of the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to give a second life to Warzone (which is now called Warzone 2.0). To celebrate this great moment, and in order to help you wait while the game downloads (it is still a total of 50 GB), we invite you to discover together its new features and the content of its very first patch note ( which you can find in detail here).
The arrival of this Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 makes it possible to somewhat redefine the rules of what we were used to. In addition to new content in the store, a brand new operator and the arrival of three new weapons, namely the BAS-P submachine gun, the Victus XMR sniper rifle and the M13B assault rifle which we can either unlock in the new Battle Pass or by completing challenges, Warzone 2.0 features a brand new map: Al Mazrah.
Al Mazrah is a gigantic new playground that includes the metropolitan area and the rural suburbs of the Republic of Adal. This new map includes 6 sectors, 25 zones, 18 major points of interest, dozens of minor points of interest and strategic landmarks scattered across the battlefield… (…) As this is the largest battle royale map we’ve ever made, we’re sure you’ll find a part of the map that suits your style of play. Infinity Ward
This brand new field can accommodate up to 150 players simultaneously within it and be traversed by solitary players or teams of two, three or four players. Also note that in addition to an FPS view, a third person mode is also relevant.
For the first time in Warzone history, players can now play with the camera attached behind their Operator’s back and have the ability to switch between left and right shoulder for aiming. Players will need to completely rethink how they approach movement, engagements, and their overall strategy. Infinity Ward
We also have the right to a brand new Gulag. The latter sports new rules, but also a new coating. This time, it all takes place in an abandoned medieval fortress.
Finally, note that there are new features within the Battle Royale mode itself. Now you can see several gas circles instead of one, but that’s not all. As we have seen in different trailers, it will also be possible to swim, and better, the loot is now more consistent. If you want to find protective plates, it is best to go to a police station and if it is care you are looking for, they are usually found in medicine boxes.
DMZ, a new mode is in the game
In addition to the Battle Royale mode, a new mode has also appeared, it is DMZ. In the latter, the objective is no longer to be the last survivor on the map, but to gather equipment located in locked areas and get to an exfiltration point. A novelty bringing together up to 66 players that will redefine your gaming habits.
DMZ is a dangerous, diverse and deep open-world experience where players can choose their level of intensity. (…) We can’t wait to see our community map the many locked areas and we can’t wait to see all your battles. Infinity Ward
A customizable Battle Pass on the program
We also learn that Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 now offer a brand new Battle Pass. The good news is that the latter can be personalized: players can choose their priority rewards.
Season 01 marks the launch of our brand new Battle Pass, where players can choose the rewards they want as they progress. Although there are over 100 levels, this new map format allows for personalized progression with unlocks. Infinity Ward
