Until then, only Samsung TVs released in 2022 had features related to cloud gaming. But from next week, owners of a model released in 2021 will also be able to benefit from it thanks to an update.
When you have a slightly old high-tech device model, it is always infuriating to see that you do not have access to the latest updates to extend its capabilities. Owners of a Samsung TV released in 2021 may have were disappointed to learnearlier this year, the manufacturer focused its new cloud gaming innovations on its screens released in 2022.
The Gaming Hub was a novelty announced in January, during CESwhich is ultimately arriving on eligible TVs last June. At launch, Nvidia GeForce Now, Stadia (RIP) or even Xbox Game Pass were notably in the game. Since then, the service has notably expanded with Amazon Luna. Enough to open some doors to the most popular cloud gaming services on the market.
An update for 2021 Samsung TVs
This week, Samsung has therefore announced very good news for TV owners who bought their device in 2021 : they will receive an update that will give them access to applications from the main cloud gaming services, including GeForce Now RTX 3080 which allows you to play in 4K Ultra HD directly from the TV.
However, there is still a small subtlety. In effect, not all models will have the Gaming Hub : the TVs of the Q70A and AU8000 ranges the QN90A of 98 inches and the Q60A and 32 inches will benefit from this complete platform, while the others will have to make do with the individual applications. That being said, it is not necessarily very serious, the important thing being above all to be able to access the applications associated with cloud gaming subscriptions.
4K streaming also available
Owners of a GeForce Now RTX 3080 subscription will have access to a “selection” of games in 4K on Samsung televisions in 2021, within a few weeks. Samsung explains that Nvidia is responsible for selecting compatible screens. We will therefore have to keep an eye on the news of the platform, which will undoubtedly communicate itself on the subject.
The South Korean firm takes the opportunity to remind you thatit is currently offering a promotional operation, which allows you to be offered an Xbox controller for the purchase of a QN85B, QN90B, QN95B, QN800B, QN850B, QN900B or S95B television. Three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership is also included with the Q60B and Q80B. This may be of interest to people whose TV is too old to enjoy streaming video game services: the fact that this proposal comes a few weeks before the end of the year celebrations is clearly no coincidence.
