The release will not take place in the coming years.
At the end of last year, Ubisoft officially announced that it was working on a remake of Splinter Cell. This news, given the huge amount of gaming news at that time, was lost in their stream, which is why many gamers are still not aware that the corresponding project is actually in production. However, this knowledge does not help anything, since the process moves at a snail’s pace, and today Ubisoft, as part of the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the adventures of Sam Fisher, clarified that the snail has not even begun to move.
According to representatives of the French company, a remake of Splinter Cell is still at the prototype stage. In other words, the developers are still only deciding what the future game will look like, and in the coming years you can not wait for its release.

Ubisoft does not want to share news either – so as not to inflate unnecessary expectations and fully concentrate on work. The decision is certainly the right one, because the less expectations from the game, the easier it is to justify them. According to the developers, the remake will largely revise the ideas of the original Splinter Cell, including changes to the narrative, but the main features will be preserved. Given all that has been said, it would be more correct to call this project not a remake, but still a restart, but so far Ubisoft has not decided anything concretely, so we will not rush to conclusions.
