If car prices have been soaring for several months now, manufacturers are not giving up and are trying to offer new offers to consumers. This is the case of Peugeot, which takes an example from the Tech market to offer discounts on the occasion of Black Friday.
Auto market hurting due to inflation…
Currently, buying a new car has never been so hardin particular because of the rise in prices which affects almost all models, whether electric, hybrid or thermal. The reason: inflation that affects the entire economy and particularly the automotive sector. Manufacturers have been facing for many months rising cost of raw materialswhich therefore has a direct impact on customers’ wallets.
To tell you, we can no longer find any new car at less costing less than 10000€. The last representative of this now bygone era was the Dacia Sandero which is now worth €11,490. This sharp rise in prices can therefore deter motorists from buying new models – even if this increase also affects the second-hand market. However, some brands, like Peugeot, try to offer special offers during certain times of the year.
… But Peugeot is getting up to speed for Black Friday
Black Friday is the time of year that Tech fans look forward to, since it is quite simply during this event that the offers are (usually) the most tempting. If e-commerce sites are often used to offering great offers on Black Friday, it is much rarer to see car manufacturers enter this dance..

The French manufacturer Peugeot has therefore decided to offer special offers for this Black Friday on a wide range of brand vehicles. Until November 30, 2022, the lion firm is therefore setting up an additional €300 to €1,000 discount on:the 208the 2008the 308 sedansthe 308 SWthe 3008the 5008the 508 station wagonsthe 508 sedansthe 508 Peugeot Sport sedanthe 508 Peugeot Sport station wagonthe new 408
So yes, we are not talking about a drastic reduction – prices fall back to pre-Covid values - far from it, but it must be recognized that the gesture made by Peugeot is still commendable. Moreover, the lion is not the only brand that offers offers on the occasion of Black Friday. Opel offers, for example, discounts on its Mokka-e and Corsa-e electric models, Citroën, for its part, also offers discounts on the ë-C4, the ë-Berlingo or the rechargeable hybrid C5 Aircross. But that’s not all, since Nissan (Qashqai, Micra and Juke) and BMW (motorcycles) also wanted to take part in the game of the event. However, as we explained in a previous article, the current period is really not favorable to the purchase of a new vehicle, whether electric or thermal.
