Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who supports Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, sees no problem with the popular fast food chain McDonald’s closing business in the country.
“I always urge you: eat, consume your own, do not rush to overseas. This sounds relevant today in terms of the fact that some, especially among young people, and, probably, middle-aged, and maybe even older, began to gasp and groan: “Oh, McDonald’s is leaving.” I think: thank you, Lord, that at least he is leaving.
“What, they can’t cut a bun in half and push a piece of meat, potatoes and lettuce into these two halves? Lord, I don’t know who consumes this,” Lukashenka said.
Belarus continues to provide Russia with territory for military training, as well as a possible new invasion in northern Ukraine.
