November 21st, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. by Sebastian Glanzer – content releases and general updates from WoW live from data mining and the discoveries of third parties. Blizzard developers use this type of information dissemination on purpose. As we learned from an interview, Dragonflight players should be spared story spoilers.
In a group interview, writers from sites like WoWhead and a few other sites got the chance to talk to Associate Game Director Jeremy Feasel and Lead Software Engineer May Flores Garcia about upcoming WoW: Dragonflight content. Among other things, it was about the story of the Dragon Islands, the world design and the endgame of Dragonflight.
When asked if the endgame quests in Dragonflight will have any sort of timegating via the new Glory tiers like in Shadowlands, Jeremy Feasel gave an interesting answer. According to the Associate Game Director, important quests in Dragonflight’s endgame will all be encrypted.

No more data mining spoilers? Dragonflight endgame quests should all be encrypted
Blizzard developers upload new content for WoW (buy now) to the CDN (Content Delivery Network) beforehand. This allows multiple developers around the world to work on new updates at the same time. The super important content is encrypted, but most of the files in this online network can be decrypted by dataminers with the right programs and passed on to the community. That should change, at least in the case of the decisive glory quests.
“There are a number of different quest lines that unlock when you reach max level. And I think one of the most interesting things about our particular endgame system is that everything in this world is encrypted. These quests were still being made on the beta server not played. While players are aware that there are chapters that unlock at max level and are tied to reputation, they aren’t sure exactly what chapters those are. We’re excited to see how people get on it reacting because you don’t know how the next story will end and you’re witnessing the next episode as it happens.” says Jeremy Feasel in an interview.
So, for the first time in what feels like forever, players will not be confronted with spoilers and, even if they do a thorough research on the game, will see story content live in-game for the first time. The interview also clarified that the progression for these Fame tiers are weekly quests and the system is extremely twink friendly. So you can complete the weekly task right at the beginning of the ID and then focus on what you love to do for the rest of the ID. No more story spoilers, sounds good right?
