Despite Kid Icarus Uprising received praise from critics and audiences upon its release in 2012, the series starring the little warrior angel Pit it didn’t carry over after the last game released on 3dsand nothing hinted that Nintendo would sooner or later take back the brand.
Over the past summer, however, the insider Zippowho has always been very active with regard to rumors and advances related to the Big N, has hinted that a Remastered of Kid Icarus Uprising would be in development for Nintendo Switch, but since then has not provided further updates and also from the Kyoto house everything has continued to keep quiet.
To attract the attention of the fans again, however, was a curious joke Masahiro Sakuraidirector of Kid Icarus Uprising, during a new video on his Youtube channel focused on Pit’s latest adventure and in particular on his elaborate difficulty system. After explaining how he and his team created that particular setting, Sakurai’s comment at the end of the film made us suspicious: “It would certainly be nice to play Kid Icarus Uprising on a home console, who knows if someone will make never a porting?” concludes the famous game designer with a hint of a final smile.
Obviously Sakurai’s words don’t necessarily mean that a reissue of the last one Kid Icarus is really in the works, however the fact that it was the creator of the game himself who hinted at the matter remains a curious fact. All that remains is to wait for any news from Nintendo to understand if Kid Icarus Uprising Remastered is really in the works or not.
