Microsoft continues to work on the planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Thanks to franchises such as Call of Duty, Warcraft, Overwatch and Diablo, the publisher is considered a particularly big fish in the race to acquire well-known game brands. If the deal goes through for just under $69 billion, it would be the largest takeover of a tech company of all time. However, there still seems to be a long way to go until then, as the US trade regulator is apparently considering filing a lawsuit against the takeover. And authorities in other countries also have to be convinced. Microsoft explained in England why no monopoly was to be feared through the takeover of Activision Blizzard. Interestingly, the successor to Skyrim, which is in development, was mentioned here. RPG fans prick up their ears.
Like Starfield, will Elder Scrolls 6 not come to Playstation?
The sixth part of the legendary role-playing game series The Elder Scrolls was officially announced by Bethesda in 2018. Over four years later, the title is still in the pre-production phase. Bethesda Game Studios is currently putting most of its resources into completing the sci-fi epic Starfield. The release of the action role-playing game from the makers of Skyrim and Fallout is scheduled for the first half of 2023.
After Microsoft took over the parent company ZeniMax Holding for 7.5 billion dollars in 2021, the question arose for video game enthusiasts worldwide whether titles from Bethesda would continue to appear cross-platform or be reserved exclusively for Xbox consoles in the future. In the case of Starfield, the fears of Playstation owners came true. Starfield is slated to release in 2023 exclusively for Xbox, PC, and Game Pass. A similar approach is apparently planned for the release of Elder Scrolls 6.
Microsoft designates Elder Scrolls 6 as a “medium-sized” game and confirms exclusivity for Xbox
As Microsoft argued to authorities in the UK, it makes no financial sense to withhold the Call of Duty shooter series from Playstation players. The sales and the associated profits are much too high for that. With this line of argument, Microsoft is trying to allay concerns from regulators that the acquisition of Activision Blizzard could lead to a monopoly for the Game Pass provider.

Elder Scrolls 6 Mega Leak: Release setting and more known?
A recent leak provides many interesting details about the role-playing game The Elder Scrolls 6. Among other things, this is about the release.
For “medium-sized” games like the upcoming Elder Scrolls 6, on the other hand, exclusivity is definitely planned, since their releases would not have a major impact on the video game market. This may not sound very believable to fans of western role-playing games. Even eleven years after its release, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still considered the pioneering western open-world role-playing game with a fantasy setting. It also sold around 30 million copies for PC, Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Until Elder Scrolls 6 actually appears, there will still be a lot of water flowing in Tamriel along Riverwood towards the sea. Who knows in what form classic video game consoles like Playstation and Xbox will still exist.
