Artezio, a member of the LANIT group, together with Comindware and the Russian Association of BPM Professionals, presented the results of a study that examined the features and effectiveness of digital transformation of enterprises in Russia.
Companies from the banking and financial sectors, trading business and large industrial enterprises from almost all regions of the Russian Federation took part in the survey. As it turned out, a third (33%) of the companies participating in the study maintain the pace of digital transformation, despite the current geopolitical situation. And only 7% of respondents reported that their organizations have completely frozen investments in digital products.
It is said that more than 74% of companies in Russia are actively involved in business process automation projects, while 5.2% of enterprises do not have such projects (and they are not planned). The main goals of introducing automation tools are: the desire to increase labor productivity (91.7%), increase customer satisfaction (48.3%) and switch to a remote work format (15%).
“The main problem that holds back the digitalization of business in Russia is money. For automation software, many companies require additional investments that are not included in the plans for the basic costs of maintaining and developing the business. For 49.2%, the lack of additional investment is an obstacle to the introduction of new automation software,” the study says.
As part of digitalization projects, 36% of companies are ready to abandon the use of foreign software. At the same time, the difficulties of switching to domestic solutions stand out: these are high cost (34%), poor product compatibility (50%), lack of expected functionality of IT solutions (60.3%) and lack of established practices (32.8%).
Approximately 40.4% of the study participants are ready to buy ready-made IT solutions and use the services of integrator companies. Another 40% want to develop their own software or use the services of companies specializing in outsourcing.
The report states that in Russia there is still a high level of use of the Microsoft Excel editor as a tool for digital enterprise process management (52%). At the same time, 62% of companies use e-mail to manage business processes, and 17% use special digital solutions.
