Designed by Samsung France and created by the company Tralalere, the monpremiertelephone.fr platform aims to support children, but also their parents and teachers while waiting for and using their very first mobile phone.
Before Christmas, Samsung launches the prevention platform monpremiertelephone.com
If for adults having a smartphone in the pocket is as normal as drinking, eating or breathing, for children the hour of the first smartphone is always a solemn and very important moment in life.
If they are accustomed to using our electronic devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops) from an early age, in France, the average age to own a phone today is just 9.9 either between CM1 and CM2.
In detail, according to a study conducted by Junior City at the start of the school year in September 2021 (this figure has probably increased since then), 41% of children aged 9-10 already had a smartphone and even 26% of 7-8 year olds. A very strong increase compared to 2020 when “only” 29% of 9-10 year olds and 15% of 7-8 year olds were equipped.
At the start of college, we have gone in a few years from 55% of 6th graders equipped to more than 75%… Very important figures and which do not reassure parents if we are to believe the figures of this IPSOS survey for Samsung France:
80% of parents surveyed say they have already had a discussion with their child about using their phone But more than 1 in 2 consider that they did not have the necessary tools to do so 72% of respondents also think that children are not sufficiently accompanied when they receive their first telephone.
This is why Samsung has decided to offer the monpremietelephone.fr platform, in order to offer a complete educational journey to children, but also advice for their parents or teachers.
Adopt the right gestures and the right reflexes before offering a smartphone to your child
The monpremiertelephone.fr platform is called a Webapp. That is to say, it is a website designed as an application, but accessible from any machine that has access to the Internet (a PC, a tablet, a smartphone, etc.). From a smartphone it is thus possible to save the site in the form of an icon that we would put on its home page and to access it like any other application.
The platform is then divided into four main parts :
my challengewhere children will discover the right reflexes to adopt according to their needs through fun and interactive activities.my quizto be able to test your level of knowledge with two levels of difficulty available.Parent’s corneras its name suggests, is a section dedicated to parents to obtain specific advice adapted to their expectations. The educational space finally, offers practical sheets and complete guides to help teachers support their students.
The final word for Olivier Oger, Vice-President in charge of Human Resources and CSR at Samsung France:
The first telephone is synonymous for children with autonomy and freedom and, for their parents, with questions. As a builder, it is our corporate responsibility to provide tools allowing them to calmly consider this important step. Our new monpremiertelephone.fr platform offers support for children, parents and teachers to take advantage of the first telephone with complete peace of mind. Designed and created in partnership with TRALALERE, the platform is fully in line with Samsung’s societal commitment to better digital education for young people.
