The Callisto Protocol Game Director Glen Schofield took to Twitter to provide details about the game’s Season Pass. The Season Pass for The Callisto Protocol was announced earlier this week and will include a new permadeath difficulty mode, a wave-based horde mode, and a slew of new death animations for the protagonist Jacob Lee, alongside the expected story DLC. The death animations in particular have proved controversial, with many players feeling that they shouldn’t be locked behind a paywall. Schofield has now clarified that no content from the main game is included in the Season Pass.
To be clear: We’re not holding anything back from the main game for the season pass. We haven’t even started work on this content yet. It’s all new stuff that we’ll be working on in the new year. Fans have asked for EVEN MORE deaths, so we’re making it a priority next year.

Whether this clarification will change players’ minds about what should and shouldn’t be included in a Season Pass remains to be seen. The Callisto Protocol should on December 2, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
