Pan’s Labyrinth and The Shape of Water director Guillermo del Toro took to Twitter to share his impressions of James Cameron’s sci-fi film Avatar: The Way of Water.
“A stunning achievement. Avatar: The Path of Water is filled with majestic landscapes and emotions of epic proportions. Master [Джеймс Кэмерон] at the peak of his powers,” wrote del Toro.
The Way of the Water is Cameron’s first film since the release of Avatar in 2009. All the actors of the main cast joined the work, including Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang.
The action takes place ten years after the events of the previous film, when Jake Sully has already become a full-fledged part of the tribe. The Na’vi are doing more or less well until people reappear in their lives.
In the US box office – from December 16. Cameron also produced a graphic novel based on the Avatar universe.
The first teaser trailer for The Way of Water was released in May.
