, AS WELL – First released in December 2015, Rainbow Six Siege supports crossplay for PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna platforms. But unfortunately the crossplay feature was not available for console platforms at that time. Ubisoft has finally confirmed that Rainbow Six Siege’s crossplay and cross-progress features will be available for consoles soon.
Finally, Rainbow Six Siege Console Gets Crossplay
Crossplay and cross-progress for Rainbow Six Siege players on the PC, Stadia, and Luna platforms has been available since June 2021. At that time Ubisoft was planning to add this crossplay feature for Xbox and PlayStation users in early 2022. Having experienced a long delay, Ubisoft has finally given players the assurance that console players will be able to log in to their accounts across platforms and play with friends across multiple console devices.
Crossplay and cross-progress features for consoles will be added on December 6, 2022 to coincide with the start of Season 4. On the same date all Rainbow Six Siege players will finally be able to play together between Playstation and Xbox console users. Not only that, players will also be able to communicate via voice chat between different consoles. Data on user accounts will later be moved to the cloud so players can play the same account on various devices such as Xbox One and Playstation 5, with of course the same progress.
Boundary Between PC and Console
It should be noted that this crossplay feature does not allow PC and console players to meet considering that the two platforms have very different game styles. Even so, the existence of this feature really helps console players as well as increasing the number of players in one place.
Along with crossplay and cross-progression updates, in year 7 and season 4, Rainbow Six Siege also adds Operators and new maps. Ubisoft also provides several updates for the battle pass, ranked system, and anti-cheat. In this new ranked system, Ubisoft is trying to reduce trolling players in ranked matches.
In the end, Ubisoft managed to close the seventh year of Rainbow Six Siege quite nicely. With cross-progression and crossplay, it will make it easier for console users to find playmates. Rainbow Six Siege is also currently collaborating with NieR Replicant to attract even more players.
