Argentina national football team forward Angel Di Maria commented on the team’s victory over Mexico in the second round of the 2022 World Cup in Group C:
“Today we were able to give joy to people, ourselves, our families and fans. We keep fighting. Luckily we won and it brought peace of mind to everyone. The first game didn’t go as we expected. I think we had a great match against a great opponent. We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game.”
Note that the 2022 World Cup match between the national teams of Argentina and Mexico ended with a score of 2:0 in favor of the Argentines. After two rounds, Argentina is in second position with 3 points, while Mexico is in fourth with 1 point.
Argentina lost the opening match at this World Cup to Saudi Arabia.
