Black Friday: The PS5 MSi Spatium 1TB Compatible SSD drops to €129 just before Cyber Monday
If you have already started looking for an SSD to increase the storage space of your PS5, you have probably understood that Sony requires models that are extremely efficient, and whose prices are rather high. Indeed, the Japanese firm requires an SSD in M.2 format which is compatible with the PCIe 4.0 interface and which offers 5500MB/s of reading speed at least (this is the speed of the SSD integrated into the console).
Except that on the market, these are the most efficient and therefore the most expensive products. Fortunately, thanks to Black Friday and soon to Cyber Monday, rather attractive promotions are underway, and bring prices to much more reasonable levels. Initially displayed at €229 when it was released, the MSI Spatium M480 has dropped to the price of €129.90which is rather low for a 1TB SSD with such good performance and especially with integrated heat sink!

Black Friday: MSI Spatium M480 PCIe 4.0 1TB with heatsink, the best for the PS5
The SSD that interests us is therefore the MSI Spatium M480. It is a 1TB M.2 model with a PCIe 4.0 interface which is capable of high-flying performance. Indeed, the firm announces read speeds that go up to 7000MB / s and write speeds that are 5500MB / s, far more than what Sony is asking for its PS5. In truth, it is one of the most powerful SSDs of the moment.
The latter will therefore work wonders in your console, but also in a PC as a C: drive, in order to have a computer capable of booting in just a few tens of seconds. If ever you are wealthy, you can also make a disk to install your games, or for any application you use regularly.
With its heat sink, this SSD is also protected against heat strokes which can impact its performance. Indeed, if the NAND memory chips become too hot, they will limit their frequency, and therefore their performance in order to remain in a thermal envelope which guarantees secure use.
This small radiator will therefore do wonders in a PS5 where the disk housing is rather very poorly ventilated. On PC, utility will probably be less crucial, but if you don’t have a well-ventilated case, it’ll still be a plus. Finally, in terms of lifespan, know that MSI announces 1,600,000 hours of use before a failure.
