Since the start of the free game offers every Thursday, Epic Games has pulled through week after week in the in-house Epic Games Store. The Christmas holidays have been celebrated in a very special way in recent years, because then there was often a free PC game every day during the holidays – including some top titles.
So far, such an action has not been officially confirmed for this year, but if you believe a well-known leaker, Epic Games will remain true to itself and its action in 2022. What is meant in this case is Dealabs user billbil-kun, who has actually always hit the mark with his leaks in the past. The insider named the upcoming free games in the Epic Games Store, but also the new line-ups on PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass, days before the official announcement.
If he is right this time, then there will be a holiday promotion again this year in the Epic Games Store. This originally started in 2019 when there were 12 full versions available in the Epic Games Store over the Christmas holidays. In the last two years, 2020 and 2021, the promotion was even expanded, as there were already 15 free titles that provided plenty of game fodder during the Christmas season.
According to billbil-kun, the campaign is scheduled to take place sometime between December 15 and January 10; the exact date and the games in the campaign period are still pending.
Since launching in December 2018, there have been hundreds of free games on the Epic Games Store. Last year alone there were 89 such free offers in the PC store, in 2020 there were even 103. Users seem to like that, because in 2021 over 765 million free games were actually claimed. You can currently get a well-known title with Star Wars: Squadrons from EA until December 1st. This will be followed by Fort Triumph and RPG in a Box until December 8th.
