The reveal trailer for Overwatch 2’s new hero, Ramattra, gives us a first look at how the omnic tank will play in the shooter. Blizzard has revealed all the interesting details about the now 36th hero, which will make its way into the game along with the release date of the second season. While we already had a good idea of what to expect from the Ramattra abilities, Ultimate and Nemesis forms, seeing one of Overwatch 2’s greatest characters in action for the first time is certainly quite a sight. You can read all the information about the new hero, how it works and what abilities it brings with it here!
Ramattra can do it all
Developer studio Blizzard shared a complete list of all the skills and weapons that Ramattra has on Twitter. Apparently, Ramattra is a hefty omnic-tank hero who spends most of his time in what he calls “Omnic Form,” where he remains at a relatively modest 450 health and relies on a more poke-oriented playstyle that utilizes his Void’s primary firing missiles -Accelerator combined with a projected void barrier. This allows him to attack enemies from afar while still protecting his team.
Ramattra’s trademark is the ability to transform into a Nemesis form, which takes him up to 600 health and transforms him into a devastating machine that hurls barrier-penetrating shockwaves from his fists using an alternate primary fire called “Pummel”. The Nemesis form lasts 8 seconds, with an 8 second cooldown.
Blizzard has summarized everything worth knowing in an info tweet. However, the list is currently only available in English, we have translated it:
Void Accelerator: Fires a fixed pattern of projectiles or deploys a shield at the targeted location Pummel (Nemesis Form): Energized strikes, greatly reduce frontal damage, reduce run speedAnnihilation: Creates a swarm of nano-bots that deal damage and enemy Reduce Damage by 50%Nemesis Form: Transform into Nemesis Form, which alters your attacks and grants additional armorRavenous Vortex: Fires a nano ball that explodes on impact, slowing and dragging down enemies hit
Release of the second season
The new hero will make its way into the hero shooter with season two. Right now everything looks like Ramattra is a pretty strong tank that comes with some interesting abilities. Blizzard itself refers to the hero as a “tempo tank”. You can see the gameplay trailer for Ramattra here:
