Since I myself am the proud owner of a 5th generation Echo Dot and a Philips Hue connected bulb, let me tell you about my experience as a user.
First of all, the design of the Echo Dot 5 is very sober which allows it to be placed almost anywhere in the house since it will blend into the decor, wherever it is. The fact of having made a pack with the Echo Dot and a Philips Hue connected bulb is a very good choice on the part of Amazon since these two devices pair up very easily and work in symbiosis.
Personally, I placed my Echo Dot as well as the connected bulb in my office which allows me to control them while I write my articles. All I have to do is ask Alexa, Amazon’s voice assistant, to turn the light on or off and it will run. It is also possible to program lighting routines to adjust the intensity of the light according to the time of day, which is a great advantage for saving energy on my electricity bill.
Similarly, the Echo Dot is able to detect my presence or, on the contrary, my absence in the room thanks to an integrated presence detector. : if I’m away and unfortunately forgot to turn off my light, she’ll do it for me!
But more generally, my Echo Dot allows me to listen to my music on Spotify on a daily basis (it also understands the titles that I ask it orally), the radio, it is also able to give me the forecasts weather report… in short, Alexa can do almost everything in addition to reducing my energy consumption.

Which voice assistant to choose?
When you choose a connected speaker, you have to ask yourself the question of the voice assistant. Indeed, there are several on the market and not all of them are compatible with the same products. It is therefore advisable to choose a speaker that will blend in with your connected installation.
