The clash relating to the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft continues, with a new series of statements shared by the Redmond giant with the competent authorities.
In a long written reply sent to the British CMA, Microsoft turns the spotlight on the relationship between Activision Blizzard eh subscription plans videogames. “Without the acquisitionActivision content will not be available in any subscription program. Activision does not prominently advertise its games (including Call of Duty) on any subscription service, and there is no evidence that this approach will change in the foreseeable future.”
Redmond remembers as only one small number of titles Activision has landed over time on PlayStation Plus. In these cases, however, there was talk of games that were already rather dated and offered to the public for a limited period of time. “Activision – continues Microsoft – has never released any new content in any subscription and he has no plans to do so in the future“.
Based on these considerations, Microsoft rules out the acquisition of Activision Blizzard may adversely affect competing subscription models a Xbox Game Pass. In any case, claims Redmond, the publisher’s titles would not in fact land in the PlayStation Plus catalog anyway.
In the face of Sony’s complaints regarding the acquisition of Activision, the legal confrontation between Microsoft and the anti-trust authorities continues.
