Today, it is still considered one of the most successful video game trailers. Based on solid foundations, the game, meanwhile, had rather convinced and a sequel was announced at E3 2014 with the hope of doing even better. Problem, we are still waiting… But maybe not for long!
For Dead Island 2, the creators of the trailer bet on a different atmosphere, but totally crazy. We see a caricature of the Los Angeles sportsman doing some warm-ups, showing off his big arms and making sure his haircut is impeccable. Headphones in his ears, Pigeon John’s The Bomb hits as he hides his wrist bite with a blindfold. Lasting a little over three minutes, the trailer is funny, rhythmic and very well edited. As our sportsman begins his stride, all the events surrounding him show a city devastated by an invasion of zombies. Everything collapses, it explodes, accidents follow one another and our guy continues his race as if everything were normal, with the music playing. On the verge of being shredded by the blades of a helicopter, he realizes that his arm is undergoing strange mutations and he gradually becomes a zombie in turn before being destroyed by the patrol supposed to eradicate the threat. . The trailer is funny and it made an impression, but the game never saw the light of day!
Dead Island 2, is it coming soon?
Enamelled with multiple postponements, Dead Island 2 is today an Arlesian. First under the leadership of the Yager studio, the game changed hands to find themselves in those of Sumo Digital then Dambuster Studios. Manhandled and lugged from one house to another, the project had to stabilize and the publisher Deep Silver then released a new release date: April 2023. And if we believe the latest information, the reveal of the game is scheduled for very soon!
The presentation of Dead Island 2, which is a small event, will take place on December 6 at 9 p.m. on the franchise’s YouTube channel.
