Considering that in most smartphones we are talking about glass, so it makes perfect sense to go get the glass cleaner to leave it as new right? Wrong. Instead of solving our problem of dirt, using glass cleaner on the smartphone screen can end up creating many others.

Despite all the logic that it may have, using glass cleaner on your smartphone screen is actually one of the worst things you can do. Then and to clean laptops too, but that’s another story.
The chemicals found in window cleaner can damage the touchscreen coating on some smartphones and tablets, leaving them damaged and potentially broken.
Many glass cleaners contain ammonia as well as other chemicals that wear down the coating over time. That is, although the intentions are good (nobody wants a dirty phone), they can prevent the touchscreen from working properly.
Some people also resort to some homemade mixtures, namely vinegar and water. This also makes some sense as vinegar is a natural disinfectant and is good for almost any cleaning task. However, it contains acetic acid which also wears away the coating.
So how should you clean your smartphone screen?
If the dirt is just fingerprints or oily marks, a microfiber cloth works great. You can also opt for a screen cleaning kit. These kits often include a neutral liquid and a cloth, and you can use it on smartphones, televisions, laptops and monitors.

Really the first thing to do is bet on a microfiber cloth. All surface grills sell and this can make all the difference. However, you don’t need to exert a lot of pressure.
