Aroged, Jakarta – Sony seems to be giving signs again regarding its new Playstation console that will be released. But according to documents published by Sony to the Authorities in the United Kingdom, Sony has not decided to release the Playstation 6 in the next few years.
Sony told Playstation life that maybe in 2027 or 2028 Playstation 6 starts to be launched in the Global market. According to him, the last series of Playstation 5 is still quite new, and ideally this replacement takes place every seven years. If you pay attention to their console release cycle, Playstation 4 when it was released globally in 2013, then followed by Playstation 5 in 2020, then the 6th Playstation will be released in 2027.
If Sony uses the seven-year cycle to launch the console correctly, then the company’s calculations are correct.

Sony Worried About Microsoft Acquisition Impact With Activision Blizzard
In the document published as thick as 22 pages, on page 8 Sony told the UK Competition and Market Agency (CMA) that the release of Playstation 6 would have an impact on ownership of the Call of Duty franchise which was taken over by Microsoft after its acquisition with Activision Blizzard. He said that Call of Duty can be played on the Playstation until 2027 which is the year the console was launched.
“By the time Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) launched the next generation of its Playstation console which is likely to occur around [ Redacted ]it would have lost access to Call of Duty and other Activision titles, making it extremely vulnerable to consumer switching and subsequent degradation in its competitiveness.” Tulisnya dalam dokumen tersebut.
But this statement was denied by Microsoft, he told VGC, that the two companies had made a bidding contract to maintain the Call of Duty franchise at least until the end of 2027. In addition, Microsoft considers that Sony actually still has plenty of time to determine its marketing strategy if Microsoft completely removes Call of Duty from the Playstation.
Sony told the UK Authority that the exclusive acquisition made between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard was actually a strategy launched by Microsoft to make the Call of Duty franchise like Nintendo and if the agreement has been approved Microsoft will repackage the franchise in the form of a One Stop Shop so that competition can be unavoidable.
