To believe that the success of House of the Dragon, located several centuries before the events of Games of Thrones, has made people envious. It is therefore time for prequels embodied by more and more spin-off projects.

“The Rats” at the heart of a brand new spin-off for The Witcher

It must be said that the universe imagined by the author Andrzej Sapkowski around the Witcher Geralt of Rivia proves conducive to the development of new intrigues highlighting the past of its many characters. This is why a brand new spin-off is already on the way, beyond The Witcher: Blood Legacy / Blood Origin. According to the Redanian Intelligence team, a new live-action prequel is indeed in development and we already know the starting point of the series!

Concretely, this new spin-off should look into the history of the group of young Nilfgaardian misfits known as the “Rats”. Because they are directly attached to the character of Ciri, the young woman should be at the heart of this prequel which will explain to us how Ciri will join their group at a very specific moment in her life.

In terms of timeline, the spin-off will be set precisely between seasons 3 and 4 of The Witcher, the role of the Rats being more and more important over the course of the series. Until then, The Witcher gives us an appointment in December with the launch of The Legacy of Blood, then next summer (at the earliest) for season 3 of the series The Witcher on Netflix.
