Written by award-winning author Matthew Seiji Burns, director/writer of the critically acclaimed visual novel Eliza, Edengate: The Edge of Life takes players on an emotional journey through the eyes of Mia, a promising young biologist who lives in wakes up in an abandoned hospital with no memory of the events that led to her awakening.
The game was conceived and developed during the most difficult months of the pandemic and represents the fear, isolation and uncertainty about the future that the development team felt during this time. They hope to convey these emotions through the emotional narrative and gameplay of Edengate, enhanced by the haunting soundtrack written by Laryssa Okada, composer of the well-known game Manifold Garden.
