Shiro Games celebrates 10th anniversary and 3 million players for Northgard. Two new games are in the works.
Shiro Games is pleased to announce that Northgard, the acclaimed Viking strategy game, has now reached 3 million players since its original release in 2018.
The studio has continued to add new content to the game since its release, most recently with the Eagle Clan, which now has 15 Clans to choose from, as well as multiplayer options and varying difficulty levels to suit every playstyle. More content will follow soon to offer more challenges and novelties for historical and new players.
In addition to this great achievement, the French indie studio also celebrates its 10th anniversary this month. The Bordeaux-based video game developer and publisher recently welcomed 10 new hires, bringing the total workforce to 60. The company has grown strongly, aided by the historic success of Evoland and Northgard, and the recent Early Access launches of Dune: Spice Wars and Wartales, both of which received critical and public acclaim.
The studio manages much of its technology and has a diverse catalog of six games. In addition, two unannounced projects are currently in progress and Shiro Games plans to hire 20 new employees in the coming year. At the same time, the studio is also developing a publishing activity called Shiro Unlimited to support young independent studios in the development of original titles such as Decarnation or Abyssals (scheduled for release in 2023).
