WoW: World server down, realm server not active - this is how the Dragonflight release went

In the night from Monday to Tuesday (November 28th to 29th, 2022) the new WoW expansion Dragonflight started. Experience has shown that many players return to the start of a WoW addon. However, Blizzard developers have shown in Shadowlands, for example, that the servers can withstand the great onslaught. Apparently, however, the rush to the Dragon Islands was too great. The start was rather bumpy.

Alliance players waited longer than planned for their boat to take them to the Dragon Islands. Horde players, on the other hand, could enter their zeppelin, but only a few players actually made it to the Dragon Isles. After the realm servers weren’t active and the world server and, in the meantime, Battle.net weren’t available, players got stuck in the loading screen and were sometimes sent back to the Orgrimmar graveyard several times. After the big rush, everything went reasonably normal. Probably by this time many players went to bed in frustration. WoW players share their experiences on Reddit.

The most common errors at the start: caught in the loading screen, realm server not active and world server down.

This is how it looked in the game for Horde characters, some of which got stuck several times from the zeppelin to the dragon islands in the loading screen and then were reset to the graveyard before Orgrimmar.

Optionally, one also had to contend with this problem.

It’s particularly bitter when you’re the only one in your group that got to the Dragon Islands. Then stop fishing…

As moderate as Shadowlands was perceived in the end, many wanted a release like Shadowlands.

The absolute horror, however, is being stuck in Shadowlands because the world servers are down.

Accidentally closing WoW (buy now) and then having to struggle with world server problems isn’t nice either.

Apparently, using the Dalaran Hearthstone from the Dragon Isles has resulted in characters being locked out or unusable.

And no, you weren’t the only ones affected by the Dragonflight launch issues.

If the boat doesn’t come, you have to get one yourself.

As you can see, most players took it with humor. It was once again an “authentic” expansion start. By the way, staying through the night to jump straight into the endgame doesn’t bring many advantages anyway. Before the ID reset, ID-related endgame content is not yet unlocked.
