During the presentation of the new generation of Nvidia video cards based on the Ada Lovelace architecture, the RTX Remix toolkit for graphical modification of games was presented. Nvidia RTX Remix will bring ray tracing and DLSS scaling technology to existing games. The first example was the updated game Portal. And although it was shown back in September, the release of Portal RTX will take place only on December 8th. This will be a special free update for the original tracing game and DLSS 3.0.
You can evaluate the visual changes of the old game by the published comparison video from Nvidia. The video also shows a significant performance boost when DLSS 3.0 is activated. Unfortunately, the new version of DLSS 3.0 scaling only works on GeForce RTX 40-series graphics cards. Older GeForce RTX owners will be able to use DLSS version 2.
Portal RTX system requirements are presented.
