November 30th, 2022 at 09:30 a.m. by Sebastian Glanzer – After a somewhat bumpy start, players of WoW: Dragonflight can now start their adventure on the Dragon Islands with almost no problems. Shortly after launch, however, the new zones are still affected by lag. Blizzard’s developers have now commented on the problems for the first time.
Didn’t Blizzard developers expect such a big rush? Right at the launch of WoW: Dragonflight, only a few were able to start their adventure on the Dragon Islands. The servers were simply overloaded. Sometimes the world server wasn’t available, then the realm server wasn’t active and the players’ characters had to be reset.
Wondering if that’s a good or bad sign. A good day after the release of Dragonflight, these serious problems no longer occur, but in the areas (especially in the capital Valdrakken) the lags are sometimes enormous. In the official forum, Community Manager Kaivax shared a statement from the developers regarding the server problems, which we have for you below.

That’s what the Blizzard developers say about the lags in WoW: Dragonflight
Since the launch of Dragon Isles content, our live operations and server engineering teams have been working non-stop to address several unexpected performance issues. Some of these were fixed with realm restarts that took place earlier today in all regions, and other performance issues are still being worked on.
This is a top priority, and we expect to deploy additional fixes over the next day.
Thank you for your patience.
The performance problems of the servers are being worked on at full speed and currently have the highest priority. Servers have already been restarted today due to upcoming balance hotfixes and weekly maintenance and more fixes are planned to follow so players can play without issues. Have you struggled with lag? And have you even arrived in the new capital of the Dragon Islands? Write to us in the comments.
