He was at team practice on 29 November. During the lesson, he lost consciousness. Died after arriving at the hospital after resuscitation and a defibrillator failed to resuscitate him for more than 40 minutes.
The player was reportedly already passing out while playing for Deportivo Cali in 2019. Although at that moment none of the analyzes carried out yielded results.
22-year-old Balanta has played for the Colombian national teams U-17, U-20 and U-23.
