The current “Battlefield” offshoot will also receive new content next year. Furthermore, the developers reveal details about the fourth season and what else is pending.
After a disastrous launch, “Battlefield 2042” has received numerous updates that have massively improved the state of the game. In addition, the online shooter is now in its third season, with which new content has once again been added.
Fifth season confirmed
As from a published today blog article is far from over: More content is planned for next year, including at least two seasons. EA DICE has confirmed a fifth season for Battlefield 2042. In contrast to the other seasons, however, no new specialist will be added. That shouldn’t bother anyone, because the tried and tested class system will return in the course of this season anyway.
The end of December is coming Update 3.1 out of here. The map “Freight List” shines in a new guise. As with previous reworks, players can expect better placed flags, resulting in shorter runways. In addition, more cover options and optimized sight lines are offered.
This will follow at the beginning of next year Update 3.2, which brings back the aforementioned class system. In addition, a new form of card “Break” appears.
After that is Season Four turn, for which the first details are available. As usual, the development team introduces a new map, another specialist, a Battle Pass and some other content. The new map should be more compact, linear and therefore offer short-distance exchanges of fire. Later, the map “Discarded” will also be revised.
The fourth season is scheduled to start sometime in early 2023.
