Despite the difficult launch in November 2021, Battlefield 2042 has enjoyed constant support from Electronic Arts e DICEarriving at Season 3 and preparing to welcome more additional content during 2023. But the future of the series already seems well defined.
The online portal PC Gamer had the opportunity to chat with numerous members of the Battlefield 2042 team, who underlined how the game has made important progress after the complicated beginnings thanks above all to the feedback from the fans. And if on the one hand the developers of Battlefield 2042 want a second chance from the players, on the other they confirm that something concrete is already taking shape regarding the next experiences connected to the famous war franchise.
To reveal it is Byron Beedlegeneral manager of the Battlefield series, who confirms that all the studios connected to the brand today (DICE, Ripple Effect and the new Ridgeline team focused on narrative experiences of Battlefield) are already actively at work on new projects. “We are already in pre-production on new Battlefield experiences from DICE, Ripple Effect and Ridgeline Studios. “Now as a global team across multiple studios, we aim to unlock the franchise’s full potential as one of the best First-Person Shooters around “, says Beedle, who adds: “This global effort allows us to work on these new experiences while we continue a dedicated team to shape the future of Battlefield 2042”.
For the moment, however, everything is silent on the nature of the new projects related to Battlefield and on when they should be shown to the public, in any case it seems clear that EA does not want to give up one of its flagship brands at all, preparing instead to invest in it with more more conviction in the coming years.
