For the past few days, the two soldiers Modern Warfare 2, version 2022, and Warzone 2.0, a new version of the franchise’s battle royale, have been fighting hand in hand to the delight of Activision which, we imagine, can no longer manage to follow the staggering sums brought in by its two shooter behemoths. Never too comfortable financially, the American publisher continues to make an eye out for players by enhancing its two titles with new content, like this skin which will delight the most devious players and allow Activision to rake in some nice sums.
Summary
Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0, Activision’s (very) winning duo!
Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0, the (very) winning duo from Activision!
The American publisher is ending 2022 on a high note. Somewhat upset because of the lackluster reception of Call of Duty : VanguardActivision wanted to bounce back fast and strong: a mission brilliantly accomplished since Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 have achieved remarkable performance since they became available, even if the opinion of the players does not necessarily make consensus around the battle royale. However, Activision has plenty of solutions to rectify the situation and to be able to reverse the opinion of the less convinced players, in particular by working on the development of new content, as was already the case with the announcement of the first joint season between Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0.
Undoubtedly, Activision and the developers of Infinity Ward still have something to surprise them with. Just recently, we still had the right to a new improbable collaboration bringing together soccer stars and a Rocket League game mode. Today, it is for almost the same reasons that the duo stands out, and more particularly because they have just inaugurated a premium skin which, as we said above, is likely to suit unscrupulous players… and enrage those who cross their path. And in this story, the publisher is clearly going to be rubbing their hands as the Steam sales figures suggest.
Activision will collect a rain of greenbacks with this skin, as well as the anger of the players
When it comes to finding an idea as brilliant as it is lucrative, even if it means offending a large part of the Call of Duty community, Activision always manages to put its finger on the argument that hits the mark. Recently, the American publisher and the developers of Infinity Ward teamed up with the esports team Los Angeles Thieves or LA Thieves, which specializes in games in the franchise, to create a premium skin that is winning all the votes on Steam. The reason ? It is because this “second skin” offers an extremely useful advantage and not without recalling the controversy around the skin of the character of Roze introduced in Warzonefirst of the name, and in modern warfare.
In this case, if this skin is very widely acclaimed, that’s because it sports a darkest black color. While it’s just a color in itself, it has the distinction of allowing the most devious players to lurk in the shadows and being very difficult to detect. Thus, for other players, the task becomes more complicated and risks harming the gaming experience: it is not without reason that this skin is already nicknamed “Roze 2.0”.. On the one hand, therefore, the players fulminate because those who spend their money are clearly advantaged but, on the other hand, for sure it bothers Activision that much: the pack is selling very well and is even in 16th position of the best sellers on Steam. Even a DLC for Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 manages to do better than Battlefield 2042 !
