In about a week it’s that time again. The Game Awards 2022 are coming up and presenter Geoff Keighley is already busy promoting the event. The creator of the “Gaming Oscars” announced a competition on Twitter that caused a stir. Valve wants to give numerous players rich gifts just in time for the Christmas season. It’s a week from the ninth edition of the Game Awards, but Geoff Keighley’s awards show is already trending on Twitter. The reason is not a leak or other scandals, but a raffle by Valve that has it all. The operating company of Steam wants to give away a Steam Deck in the premium version with 512 GB per minute during the live transmission of the Game Awards 2022.
In this version, the handheld PC normally costs 679 euros and the delivery time is around one to two weeks. If you want to get a Steam Deck “for free”, you have to consider a few things. The competition is reserved for registered users on Steam who have specifically opted in to the promotion. Only users from countries where the Steam Deck is sold can participate. In addition to Germany and the EU, these are the USA, Canada and Great Britain.

The fine print of Valve’s sweepstakes reveals more details. The total number of 512GB Steam Decks that will be given away, one per minute, during the Game Awards 2022 is yet to be determined. Apparently, in order to participate, you not only have to register in advance, but also be logged in during the broadcast and watch the award show directly via Steam.
