Biathlete of the Ukrainian national team Daria Blashko commented on the 51st place in the individual race at the first stage of the World Cup in Kontiolahti, Finland.
“In general, I am satisfied with the preparation, with the exception of the last training camp on the snow. It was very warm, the track was in poor condition… We did all the work, but due to weather conditions, we were unable to pull up the high-speed component. And now we are actually not used to good speed. Although we arrived in Kontiolahti in advance, worked on racing skis, and these days should have been enough to accelerate.
But the first race is always interesting. It is necessary to enter into a working rhythm, to realize what and how to do. Because the absence of competitive practice for nine months, of course, affects. In any case, the first race provides a lot of material for analysis,” Blaschko said.
