Systems and applications need RAM to function. The available quantity determines how many applications can be opened on the smartphone at the same time and how quickly they will work. If we look at the cheapest smartphones, it can be tempting to take home one that has an interesting screen and only costs around 100 Euros. But if you only have 1 or 2GB of RAM, our advice is to avoid Android smartphones with this feature. It’s just that by today’s standards it’s really not enough anymore. So don’t buy these smartphones even if they are at a super price. Is that you will completely regret it.
Don’t buy these smartphones even at a super price!
If the characteristics of a smartphone indicate that the amount of RAM is 2 GB, then this means that we will have various limitations. System services constantly occupy part of RAM. They are only deactivated when the smartphone is turned off. The remaining space is used to run and maintain applications.
When launched, the application occupies a certain part of the “RAM”. If not used, it frees up some memory, leaving just enough to remain open. If several applications are open, and only one is used, the system releases unused RAM data to free up space for the active application to work.
In this field, older smartphones release applications that open as early as possible. The new ones have “smart” algorithms that do everything according to certain standards. The idea is that there are no hiccups when the user returns to a certain application.
But what happens if a smartphone only has 1 or 2GB?
In reality a lot and it’s not good news.
A light version of Android
Right from the start we are only entitled to a light version of Android. This is because a complete system occupied about 80% of the available memory. The problem is that not everything runs smoothly in this light version.
More time to launch apps
Launching is the “heaviest” part of the application, which requires the most memory. On a smartphone with 1 or 2 GB of RAM, new apps will be launched slowly. This is because the system will first limit the activity to the maximum and load the already open data.
Applications load slower
Since the system releases data from unused applications, when switching from one to another, you will have to wait until they load back. The browser will load the contents of the tabs at a time, the mail client the emails and Facebook or Twitter again the newsfeed.
Bad too to play
So a smartphone with 2GB of memory is definitely not for gaming. It’s just that from the start the memory will all go away. Of course, it may even work but it will be almost impractical to use the smartphone.
