It has already been indicated in recent weeks that those responsible at Warner Bros. are obviously very interested in a Harry Potter sequel. Preferably, of course, with the cast around Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, who we know from the films of the time. So far, however, the plans for new projects have been scrapped early on by Wizard World creator JK Rowling. Warner Bros. doesn’t want to give up just yet.
Is there a Harry Potter series coming?
As part of the Content London TV conference, Channing Dungey (CEO of Warner Bros. TV) has now also spoken about the possible return of the magician. “There are enormous ambitions for [Harry Potter] and we are involved in numerous talks.” reveals the person responsible in London. In doing so, she confirms what David Zaslav (CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery) also addressed some time ago. The company wants to do something with Harry Potter again.
Prequels don’t do that well anymore
One of the main reasons people want to bring back the old characters is the dwindling interest in the Fantastic Beasts prequel series. While the first film from 2016 was still at the level of the Harry Potter parts with sales of around 811 million US dollars, the third prequel film released in April 2022 with around 404 million US dollars is clearly different from that of the time box office results removed.

It will probably take a while
It is also certain that fans of Harry Potter will have to be patient. If there really is a new project, the production will take a few more years. But they don’t seem to want to do anything wrong at Warner Bros., as Channing Dungey reveals: “There’s a lot of interest and passion for it – the audience is ready, they want to get started – and we’re just trying to figure out what the next step is.” Daniel Radcliffe last appeared as Harry Potter more than eleven years ago.
