For quite some time MachineGames has been working on a new game based on Indiana Jones. What exactly awaits you there is a well-kept secret so far. Now Todd Howard from Bethesda reveals at least the rough direction.
Warning, the following statement is likely to stir some tempers: The Indiana Jones brand is past its best. We don’t just mean the films themselves, the archaeologist with the whip has also been criminally underrepresented in the video game sector in recent years. All the more surprising was the announcement last January that the Swedish studio MachineGames was working on a new title with Dr. Jones works. What exactly the Wolfenstein makers are planning is a well-kept secret.

Game Director and Executive Producer at Bethesda, Todd Howard, has at least shed some light on the matter. He himself is involved in the development as an executive producer and was asked in the podcast by Lex Fridman whether the new Indiana Jones would go more in the direction of action-adventure.
His answer: It is more a genre mix, the developers deliberately do not commit themselves to a specific direction. He goes on to say that it is a “clear declaration of love to Indiana Jones”. He also finds warm words for MachineGames, the studio is doing “incredible work”.
So not really profound new information that Todd Howard has in his luggage. However, one could conclude from the evasive answer that Indiana Jones can definitely be assigned to the umbrella term action-adventure. Wouldn’t be surprising given the success of Uncharted and the new Tomb Raider parts.
There have been rumors in the past that despite Bethesda’s affiliation with Microsoft, the title might not become an Xbox exclusive. So many rumors that the new adventure of Dr. buzz around Jones. The answer to the following question should be particularly exciting: Will the game appear first or the fifth film?
