The PS5 is selling pretty well despite the shortage, and Sony has no doubt planned a nice roadmap for it for the years to come. While waiting to see what it is made up of, we have just learned of Sony’s participation in one of the major tech events of 2023.

Sony at CES 2023, it’s confirmed

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas – more commonly known as CES – is one of the most prominent high-tech shows in the world. All the biggest manufacturers come to exhibit their new product and the most advanced technologies and inevitably, some manufacturers must not miss the boat. Like Sony, for example.

Exactlythe Japanese giant has just confirmed its participation in the 2023 edition, whose conference will take place on January 4 at 2 a.m. French time. We know in advance that the Sony equipment that will integrate the Hondas will be there, but not much else. Which brings us to the next point: what if a new PS5 was announced there?

A PS5 Pro or Slim around?

If the question arises everywhere on the web, it is not for nothing. First of all, you should know that this would not be the first time that video games have been invited to CES in Las Vegas: during the 2022 iteration, for example, Sony announced the PlayStation VR2 thereits famous virtual reality helmet which is due to be released on February 22, 2023. We can therefore bet again on the presence of this accessory at the American show.

Also and above all, the theory of a new PlayStation 5 is starting to make itself heard in earnest. We recall that not long ago, a frankly founded rumor reported a new chassis for the machine, even with a detachable and optional disk drive. Maybe this one could be unveiled at CES 2023.

Furthermore, PlayStation’s Slim models still arrived about three years after the original console’s release ; the same was true for the PS4 Pro. In November 2023, the PS5 will blow out its third candle… and we can therefore wonder if new variants, lighter and/or more powerful, could be highlighted during the event.

In short, we won’t have long to wait anyway since Sony’s conference will be held, as we recall, on January 4, 2023, a little over a month from now. The bets are open.
