Todd Howard believes that 30fps is perfectly fine for a video game as long as the game can impress.
When he says “impressive”, he doesn’t just mean the look, but also the simulation and much more – simply everything that is calculated in the background to deliver a spectacular result and cast a spell over the player.
“We don’t have a problem with 30 frames per second as long as it looks really good and the simulation is running and all that stuff,” said Todd Howard.
Previously, trailer analysis showed that Starfield appears to be targeting 4K at 30fps. Whether a 60fps performance mode is also being worked on at the same time is not known and is rather unlikely.
