“The Callisto Protocol” was created by the relatively new studio Striking Distance. But Sony also participated in the development with around 150 employees.
The release of The Callisto Protocol is imminent. The debut project by Striking Distance Studios will be released for consoles and PC in early December.
As has since been revealed, around 150 people from PlayStation’s visual arts and Malaysia teams were involved in the development of the title. This is evident from the game’s credits, which appear on Resetera were posted.
Already in previous reports there was talk of Sony’s visual arts team getting hands on with The Callisto Protocol and collaborating on a number of features, including cinematics complete with motion capture. However, the exact number of employees was not known at the time.
Season Pass announcement caused a stir
While many players are looking forward to the title comparable to “Dead Space”, it was announced during the month that the Season Pass von „The Callisto Protocol“ will include new death animations for Jacob and his enemies. Thereupon creator Glen Schofield responded to the allegationsthe developers would withhold content from the main game.
The Callisto Protocol is a narrative and single player focused title. The additional post-launch content is intended to incentivize players to return to the game long after launch. The support should be maintained for at least one year.
“The Callisto Protocol” is a new work from game director Glen Schofield, who also played a major role in shaping the “Dead Space” series. In his latest project, the players end up on the well-known Jupiter moon Callisto, where a prison break turns into a merciless fight to the death.

The Callisto Protocol is scheduled for release on December 2nd, 2022 on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. With which Download size depends on buyers of the PS5 version have to arrange, was recently announced on the Twitter account PlayStation Game Size. It was also announced that players with an extensive Day One-Update should count.
