Apparently, when WoW: Dragonflight was released, someone forgot to apply an important loot lockout rule to the rare opponents. And that meant that until the rare loot was deactivated on November 30, 2022, some resourceful players used the time to spam rares, apparently in Forge of Arcanum, and bathe in the absolute loot rain. Epics with item level 370+ were not uncommon. This is suggested by WoW fan Jetster’s post on Reddit, who asked the community why every WoW streamer hangs mobs in Forge of Arcanum and spams the mobs.

From the comments of the other players who noticed this, we can conclude that the respawn timers are short there – and from the comments of the developers, we take the information that the loot of the rare enemies of the Dragon Islands had to be disabled for a short time. By the way, it’s now activated. But first a hotfix had to be deployed to the online roleplaying game’s servers, which activated the daily loot lockout rules for rares.
Asmongold was there too
Apparently, a viewer of Asmongold’s farm stream, who has just devoted himself to a rare opponent from the Azure Mountains (Spellforged Brute) over and over again, made a post in the official WoW forums (which can no longer be accessed) that the bug as possible was fixed quickly. And that’s what happened, the loot of rares was deactivated relatively quickly.

You can watch the video in which Asmongold explains the loot exploit, because it can no longer be used. Warning: Asmongold and his teammate McConnell got a little abusive towards the WoW fan who reported their exploit on the forums.
Are there penalties for users of the loot blessing?
First, the issue explained, in the official words of WoW Community Manager Kaivax on November 30, 2022: “With a temporary hotfix, we recently made sure that all rare enemies on the Dragon Isles, such as Cinta the Forgotten, Windseeker Avash, and Dragonwing not dropping loot or reputation We are working on a bug that is causing loot from rare enemies to ignore the daily loot lockout We expect this bug to be fixed in the next few hours, and at this point we’re going to re-enable their loot so they should drop their loot daily going forward.” Four hours later the hotfix was there and the booty was switched on again.

Of course, the WoW community would now like those who exploited this bug to have their gear advantage revoked. So will there be penalties? At least players in the top guild, Echo, are said to have received a response from Blizzard’s overseers, saying there would be no rollbacks or other penalties at this time, but the team would be deciding if it’s okay for the loot to drop. It sounds like any character who has snagged epic loot from Rares with relative ease in the past 48+ hours since Dragonflight’s release shouldn’t face a penalty.
